Mamavation Monday 1/2 - Happy New Year! 2012 Edition

Happy New Year!

2011 was a fairly decent year for me.  I managed to graduate with my Bachelors of Science in Environmental Health Science, and I moved into a new home around Christmas time.  The move and finals are the cause for my absence.

So, the last time I posted my weekly Mamavation Monday post called Creating a Vision, I talked about my vision board for the 2012 year.

Well, it's the time to begin my journey into achieving what is on my vision board.  The board for months 1-3 are currently printing as I type.  I decided to create the board in powerpoint so that I could print each individual slide.  This allows me to print a few copies easily and post each one so that I see them at some point during the day.

In case you missed it - here is the vision board for months 1-3:


I am breaking these down into a rough timeline for the next 3 months:

Week 1 - Begin p90x.  I *WILL* finish the entire 90 days this time and post my before and after pics when I have finished.  This also encompasses the weight training I want to begin doing on a consistent and regular basis.

Week 2-3 - ditch my one a day soda habit.  I got into this horrible habit of a cup of coffee and a can of Coke every morning.  I was drinking my 32 ounces of water before I did this, but yet I still got into the habit.  The Coca-Cola and Coffee cocktail after breakfast is a trick I use when I am absolutely exhausted but yet still need to keep going.  And I'm sure if you've read any of my tweets over the last few months, all you have seen me do is complain about school.  Finals week was rough because Chemistry was so important! But, it's over and I survived!

Week 3-4 - Begin adding a second daily body scan meditation to my routine.  I do them daily and it has helped me tremendously with the stress I've been dealing with but I want to add a micro one to my morning routine.

I wanted to start focusing on the habits early on in the three months, but I also wanted to give myself time to adjust to the previous habit change before adding another.  This is why I put week 2-3, week 3-4 because if the next week rolls around and I'm still feeling "off" from adding/changing a habit the week before, then I'll give myself another week.

BABY STEPS is what I must remember.  I cannot change all of this in a day or even a week!  I must build a solid foundation.

Those are great goals! I think it's awesome you broke them down, makes it easier to do them I think! Congrats on finishing your bachelors. A lot of my friends do p90x I hear it's hard but worth so good luck :) Have a great week!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE your vision board - seems like it puts things in prospective in a big way. I normally put mine on the piece of paper and lose it before the end of the day. Best of luck !!

I love the digital vision board. I decided to cut up my old mags as a means to removing them from my house, lol.

I'm doing Brazilian Butt Lift by Beach Body so maybe I can check in on you when I remember you are busy at it P90X.
Good luck with the soda. It was hard on my husband when he gave up soda, but he feels great now.

I wish you luck giving up soda. That is a tough thing to do when you have a habit. I love your vision board. And I am starting P90X. One of my goals is to finish it also.

Wow, those are lofty goals but I know you have got it. I am just glad you aren't writing my goals. Lean on us for whatever you need to make them happen!!
